More Cast and Creator Panels Invade ComedyPRO

I’m Dying Up Here on SHOWTIME: A Night with Cast & Creators

Sit down with executive producers Jim Carrey and Michael Aguilar and cast members Ari Graynor, Al Madrigal, Erik Griffin, Andrew Santino, RJ Cyler and Clark Duke for a wide-ranging conversation about everything that went into making I’m Dying Up Here, the new highly anticipated one-hour SHOWTIME drama series.

Premiering Sunday, June 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME, the show explores L.A.’s famed ‘70s stand-up comedy scene, delving into the inspired, damaged and complicated psyches of those who stand alone in front of an audience “dying” for fame, fortune and, with any luck, a shot on Johnny Carson. This fictional group of competitive but close-knit comedians is mentored by “Goldie,” a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist, but nurtures her comedians with tough love. For Goldie and her crew, there’s truly no such thing as an easy laugh.

This conversation will no doubt prompt some nostalgic stories about the boom of the comedy club scene in the ‘70s, and reveal the inspiration behind the show’s must-see first season when we sit down with this panel on Thursday, July 27 at 9:30 p.m. at Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts.

Watch I’m Dying Up Here on CraveTV, Canada’s home to new and returning SHOWTIME programming.

FOX presents The Mick

Foul-mouthed, brash and debaucherous, Mackenzie “Mickey” Molng, played by Kaitlin Olson, has spent her entire life shirking any semblance of responsibility. That is, until she’s saddled with the unexpected role of sole guardian to her estranged sister’s three high-maintenance, ill-parented, and absurdly spoiled children. With their parents fleeing the country to escape fraud charges, it’s up to Mickey to transform them into decent, honest and somewhat hard-working members of society – something she knows nothing about.

Join Kaitlin Olson along with creators Dave and John Chernin as they dish on the best moments from the first season of Fox’s The Mick, and let us in on what Mickey and the gang are up to in Season 2 on Saturday, July 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Salon Opera, Level 4, Hyatt Regency Montreal.

The casts and creators of these shows join the lineup of previously announced panels HBO’s Vice Principals and CNN’s The History of Comedy.

VIDEOTRON PRESENTS OFF JFL & ZOOFEST

IN COLLABORATION WITH PABST BLUE RIBBON

One of comedy’s rare hidden gems is Lil Rel Howery. Thanks to his breakout performance in Jordan Peele’s hit movie “Get Out”, he’s not going to be hidden for much longer. Lil Rel is an amazing storyteller whose sharp impersonations and hilarious mannerisms make you feel you were right there with him. Come and be wildly entertained by Lil Rel Howery and Friends on Wednesday, July 26, at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 27, at 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 29 at 10:00 p.m. at Katacombes.

The clean, observational style of comedy of Ryan Hamilton is very reminiscent of a young Jerry Seinfeld, who he’s had the pleasure of opening for. It’s not like he set out to only do clean comedy, that’s just who he is and his genuine humour flows naturally and connects easily, helping him build a huge fan base all over the US. Check Hamilton out from Monday, July 24 – Saturday, July 29, one show each night at 8:30 p.m. at Salle Claude Léveillée at Place des Arts.

Following a sold-out run at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory and two critically-acclaimed West End runs, David Baddiel brings his Olivier-nominated one-man show David Baddiel My Family: Not The Sitcom to Montreal for its North American premiere. The show offers hysterical perspectives on everything from memory, ageing, infidelity dysfunctional relatives, moral policing on social media, golf and gay cats. J.K. Rowling called it a “brilliant, funny, emotional show”. Catch one of the 10 performances starting Thursday, July 20 - Sunday, July 23, at 7:00 p.m. at Theatre Sainte-Catherine; and from Monday, July 24 – Saturday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. at La Chapelle.

Eugene Mirman returns to OFF-JFL this summer with his comedically insightful series Hold On. Often, the very best stories have a moment - or several moments - where the audience desperately wishes that they could ask the storyteller on stage one question: “UM, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??!!” But, of course, that’s not exactly in the cards.  Presented by Audible, each show hosted by Eugene features several different comedians as they sit down and allow him to slice into their personal stories and comedic psyche with the questions on everyone’s mind. No holds barred and never the same show twice. Join Eugene and his featured guests on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28 at 11:30 p.m. at La Chapelle.

Pre-sale tickets will be available starting today, Wednesday May 31, 2017 as of 10:00 a.m.; and to the general public on Friday, June 2 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at www.hahaha.com
