Just For Laughs isn’t FOOLING around!!

Bill Burr, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Margaret Cho join the 33rd annual Just For Laughs Festival along with the return of Festival favourite, The Ethnic Show hosted by Alonzo Bodden.

Montreal, April 1, 2015 – The Just For Laughs Festival, presented by Videotron in association with Loto-Québec, is thrilled to announce four shows as part of the summer Festival lineup. It may be April Fool’s Day, but we ain’t fooling as we announce that French mega-star Rachid Badouri will perform for the first time on the Just For Laughs stage and join The Ethnic Show!

Rachid joins The Ethnic Show, which is the most culturally diverse show of the Festival and one that is guaranteed to bring Montrealers together to laugh about our dysfunctions. Rachid has sold over 200,000 tickets during the course of 250 shows with his tour “Badouri Reloaded” and has become one of the most sought-after comedians. He is excited to join The Ethnic Show and share his hilarious upbringing as a Moroccan raised in Montreal. Hosting the show is Just For Laughs veteran, international headliner and winner of Last Comic Standing, Alonzo Bodden. Completing the show is a gathering of some of the most diverse comedians each with their own respective upbringing and unique view of the world; Italian-Canadian Frank Spadone, UK born via Nigerian parents Gina Yashere, Jewish-American Dan Naturman, Arab-American Ahmed Ahmed and Malaysian born, Singapore and USA raised and Australian educated Ronny Chieng. The Ethnic Show takes over Club Soda from July 8th to July 19th with 10 shows.

After killing it as a Gala host last year, Bill Burr returns to Montreal for two guaranteed to sell out performances where he will be performing all new material. Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of Chappelle’s Show, Bill has become one of the top comedic voices of his generation, winning the JFL Award for Stand-Up Comedian of the Year in 2014. He has achieved success in TV, film, as well as the live stage, a feat few comedians can say. He sells out theaters internationally, and his Monday Morning Podcast is one of the most downloaded comedy podcasts on iTunes. Bill returns to the Festival with two solo performances at Olympia Theatre on July 22nd and July 23rd.

Back by popular demand, Sebastian Maniscalco returns to the Festival for an 11 solo-show run where he skewers modern-day society. He has established a passionate fan following with late night performances on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show and Conan. Sebastian will be performing his show Aren’t You Embarrassed? at Le Gesù from July 20th to July 26th - not planning on attending, what’s wrong with you?!

Not to be out done, the Agent Provocateur of stand-up, Margaret Cho makes her return to Montreal for one night only at Olympia Theatre on July 24th. Margaret has earned three Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album and an Emmy nomination for playing North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il, on 30 Rock. Nothing is off limits or too taboo and in her own words, “This show is all about the insanity in the world – it’s called There’s no “I” in Team, but there is a Cho in Psycho.”

The presale for each show begins today at 10am and the public on-sale is tomorrow, April 2nd at 10am. For tickets and more information please go to hahaha.com.
