• Kristeen von Hagen

Kristeen von Hagen was recently named one of the “Top 30 Power Women in Canada” by Elle magazine. But true to her self-deprecating humour, she quipped “all I have in common with these women is a green card”. That and she is much, much funnier than them. A multiple Canadian Comedy Award winner for best female stand-up as well as for her writing in productions such as “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”, “Train 48” and “The Toronto Show”, Kristeen truly is one of Canada’s most powerful comedic talents. Her sketch she wrote and performed in CBC’s “SketchCom” with troupe, Pale By Comparison, received a Canadian comedy Award nomination in 2001 for Outstanding New Sketch troupe. In that same year, Kristeen was also nominated for Best Femal Stand-up. In 2002, she won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-up and in 2005, won Best Play for her play, “Dickwhipped”. She has been nominated again for Best Female Stand-up in 2006.

Her irreverent humour can be seen on her “Comedy Now!” special on CTV and The Comedy Network, “Cream of Comedy”, “Premium Blend” as well as heard on WTN’s “Naughty Bits”. She has toured Western Canada with “Puppetry of the Penis”, not as the main attraction of course, but she was a fantastic fluffer. Other notable appearances include at the Just for Laughs Festival and the March of Dames Festival. Kristeen is one of the most polished and talented young comics on the comedy scene today. She is a smart, sophisticated comedian with a contemporary twenty-something point of view. Seriously. She’s a powerful woman, there’s no telling what she will do.
