Amazon Sets Friday, November 30 Premiere Date for Inside Jokes, Just for Laughs Festival Docuseries, Exclusively for Prime Video

Amazon today announced that docuseries Inside Jokes will premiere on Friday, November 30, exclusively on Prime Video for customers in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The six-episode series follows up-and-coming comedians in New York and Los Angeles as they pursue their dream of being selected for the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs Festival New Faces showcase.

The Prime Original series follows the select group of talented comics—Rosebud Baker, Robert Dean, Kellen Erskine, Simon Gibson, MK Paulsen, Alzo Slade and Daphnique Springs—as they go through the process to audition for the New Faces showcase. Prime members will get unprecedented access into the exhaustive annual nationwide search and what it takes to be chosen for this exclusive showcase. The series will follow the comedians to comedy clubs, to their jobs, and to their homes, as they struggle to hone their acts. And for those select few chosen to be New Faces, as they prepare for a performance that could launch their careers.

New Faces is a launch pad for major comedic talent: former New Faces comedians featured in the docuseries include Hannibal Buress, Gary Gulman, Pete Holmes, Gabriel Iglesias, Colin Jost and Chelsea Peretti. Comedian Cameron Esposito also appears.

Emmy-winning producer Jimmy Fox (United Shades of America) executive produced under his Main Event Media banner in conjunction with All3Media America. Neil Berkeley (Gilbert, Harmontown), Bruce Hills (Funny As Hell, Hilarity for Charity, Craig Ferguson: Tickle Fight), Star Price (Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, Active Shooter: America Under Fire) and Anton Leo (Sunnyside, Tickle Fight, The Confessional) of Just For Laughs Media also executive produced.

Founded in 1983, the Just For Laughs’ growth is concentrated on three major focal points: festivals (in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Sydney); television production and stand-up specials (most notably Gags, seen in 135 countries and on 100 airlines); and live shows (Canadian tour dates for Jerry Seinfeld, Carol Burnett, Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr, Kathy Griffin, Trevor Noah and Steve Martin & Martin Short). The Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, which will celebrate its 37th edition in July 2019, is the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy event, welcoming more than 2 million people each summer.

Prime members will be able to stream the series exclusively via the Amazon Prime Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online. Members can also download the series to mobile devices for offline viewing at no additional cost to their membership. The series will be a global release and available on PrimeVideo.com for Prime Video members in more than 200 countries and territories in 2019.
